Keller Glade

Type: HR Consulting

Platform: Wordpress (Hello Elementor + Elementor)

Description: Description Coming Soon

Review: It was an absolute pleasure working with Aurelia! She built the website for my consulting business from scratch -- in an overall span of 3 weeks. She had a very functional first draft available for review within the first week following our initial call and contract. My initial interview screen with her was also very effective, and she offered suggestions and guidance that gave me great confidence to select her.

Aurelia is extremely well organized and straightforward. We easily committed to a calendar of scheduled meetings over the timeframe, and worked iteratively in between on content updates and additions. Ongoing communication was responsive.

Her skills in web design are superb. She also has great marketing sense. She organized and made improvements to my content and flow of critical information that I provided in an initial wireframe, and I cannot be more happy with the outcome.

I highly recommend Aurelia for end-to-end web design.

Fulfilling Destiny

Type: Non-Profit

Platform: Wordpress (Hello Elementor + Elementor)

Description: Fulfilling Destiny is a new non-profit organization in San Diego that provides feminine products to homeless women. They asked me to create a new website and logo for them. After discussing with the founder, we decided to create our own images and use a purple color theme for the website. I originally created this website with Visual Composer and the Alone theme. After a year, I updated the site to a lighter theme, Astra and Elementor. The result was a beautiful, functional and intuitive website that reflects their mission.

Review: Ms. Yee designed my non-profit website for me later that year, on which she did a very great job. Ms. Yee is an amazing web designer, very friendly and always delivers her work on time. I am very satisfied and impress with her work and professionalism.

Platform: Wordpress (Hello + Elementor)

Description: Molokai had an old website and was looking for an update to something more modern and responsive. I incoporated their colors into their design, using a combination of grey, black with light blue highlights. I went for modern looking blocks as well as creating lots of space to allow the design to breathe as the user scrolls down. As the user scroll down each section on the website, they have not only a visual of what the company does, but also text that are engaging and eye-catching.

APSU

Type: E-Commerce

Platform: Wordpress (Astra + Elementor)

Description: APSU was rebranding their site and wanted to build a brand new E-commerce site. I first created a Coming Soon landing page and then redesigned the website. They wanted their website to be full of imagery and fun so I played around with the core APSU colors to come up a beautifully blocked website. A major challenge I faced with this website was speed as it needs a lot of dynamic features. I was able to speed things up by migrating to a new hosting, image optimization and cache configuration. Overall, I am very happy with how this website came out and it is lightening fast ☺

Review: I can't fault Aurelia. Her work and attitude have been outstanding. Thank you so much for the support in getting this site delivered successfully. In particular we had to juggle my constantly-changing timezones, which meant some late night comms for Aurelia, but she never complained and always responded well. I look forward to working with you again on other projects in the future!

West Coast Swing San Diego

Type: Dance Community

Platform: Wordpress (Hello Elementor + Elementor)

Description: This website was not built for any clients instead it was built for the West Coast Swing community. I wanted to create online space with a comprehensive list of information. I wanted to create a valuable resource for the newcomers and the existing members in the dance community. I became a copyrighter, a designer and a developer. All in one. Doing background research, I realized that there was a ton of information for West Coast Swing (WCS). The biggest challenge was figuring out how to structure and organize so much contents without end up making a bunch of pages lumped together. Instead, I wanted the website to be simple and user-friendly. To come up with the pictures on the main page, I scheduled a photo-shoot session with my fellow dancers. I integrated a Google Calendar and Team Showcase so that viewers can see the local dance events and classes on one page. Overall, this website has been well received within the WCS community.

Tashina Dance

Type: Dance

Platform: Wordpress (Astra + Elementor)

Description: Back in college, I fell in love with a dance called West Coast Swing so I was estatic when one of my past instructors reached out to me to help her freshen up her website. Her old website was not fully responive, had tacky colors, and the webpage was not laid out evenly. I decided to go with a purple color for her website because the color feels regal, fun and refined - exactly how I felt about her dancing. I rebuilt the website with Elementor and integrated Actuity and Woocommerce within the site. Now she has a site that is modern looking and also brings value to her and her students!

Brand Identity Package

Program: Indesign

Challenge: Create a company Identity package using InDesign.

Description: What better package to create than for my own company? Therefore, I took my logo (the HTML cat) and integrated him in the 5 different documents I was asked to create. I wanted to add some of the cat’s personality in, so I had him peeking on all sides of the documents. I also loved the baby blue color (in contrast to my usual coral pink) and used it to add a soft corporate look to all the documents. The project included a letterhead, an envelope, business card, and an invoice.

Level Design Partners

Type: Engineering Design Firm

Platform: Wordpress (Astra + Elementor)

Description: Level Design Partners had a Graphic Designer mockup a site for them but they needed a Web Developer to develop and bring the website to life. I went with the Particles.js background for the animated top and then used Scrollify.js for a one page scrolling effect. Everything else on the website was built with the Elementor builder. The website brings the visitor through a journey of the Company’s values and goals, and the visitor can view full screen slides that explains who and what Level Design Partners are.

Playing Cards Set

Program: Illustrator

Challange: Use Illustrator to create a playing card.

Description: I have always loved Asian culture and Anime and wanted to create a set of playing cards that reflected this. I started by creating only a Samurai, hand-drawn and traced in Illustrator. I then moved on and created a female Samurai. Feeling that the set is not complete, I went ahead and created opposite male and female Ninjas.

Awards: Blue Ribbon at the San Diego County Fair Student Showcase.

DermaNutri

Type: Beauty

Platform: Wordpress (Astra + Elementor)

Description: DermaNutri’s old website was built on a premium theme and the owner felt that the design was inflexible. They wanted to be able to customize designs anywhere on the page. We decided to start a new website on any theme as long as it is built in Elementor. I chose Astra as the new theme and went for large images and clean spacing to minimize viewers’ distraction and highlight the products. I added functionality and animation to make the website run smoother and feel interactive. The duration of the project was two weeks from start to finish. The DermaNutri team has great taste in design. I feel that this website portrays who they are.

Review: Excellent from start to finish. Aurelia is a real gem on Upwork. Not only does she genuinely care about her client's project, but is also highly skilled, very communicative and efficient with time. Has a good eye for detail and a willingness to do the necessary work to iron out any creases. Would highly recommend to any commercial website design/development projects.

Kwon's Auto

Type: Auto Shop

Platform: Wordpress (Divi)

Description: Kwon’s Auto’s old website was a DIY. They needed a professional web developer to enhance their website to be clean, complete and fully functional for their business needs. They also wanted the visual representation of the website to be coherent with their brand colors and images. Kwon’s colors are Red, Yellow and White. I decided to go with Red as the main color and Yellow as the accent. I redesigned the structure of the website on the Divi theme, combined multiple pages into one, added images wherever I thought was appropriate, and fixed up some spacing issues. Overall, the design of the website came out to be clean and beautiful – exactly how a Divi website should look like but also with the flare of Kwon’s Auto added to it.

IPod Ad

Program: Illustrator

Challenge: Create an Ipod Ad using a photo of yourself.

Description: I loved the concept of this. I went for two different photos, one where I was jumping and an engagement photo. I traced both images and created a shape that I filled with black – this was the silhouette. For the jumping photo, I created the silhouette and just added an Ipod. For the engagement photo, I added birds flying towards my hand to create a Cinderella feel. The result was two projects with a different feel but similar messages.

Wilson PCS

Type: Cleaning Service

Platform: Wordpress (Generate Press + Elementor)

Description: Wilson’s PCS’s old website was coded with PHP and it needed an upgrade in both design and content. They wanted their website to feel modern and clean (since they are a cleaning service after all!). I suggested moving their website platform to Wordpress. Doing so would allow them to be able to edit pages and contents on their own once the website is finished. The client granted me full freedom and control over the design for this website. I went for a very minimal, clean, and modern look for Wilson. I also recreated their logo. Overall, I loved how the website turned out – no frills but clean and modern!

Review: I hired Aurelia to help build a simple website for my cleaning service. She got right on the job once the contract started. She kept me informed on every detail from start to finish and made it very easy for me to navigate through the site if I needed to make changes. The entire process went smoothly. She was patient, extremely knowledgeable, open to suggestions and gave honesty feedback. I will definitely use her for future projects and highly recommend her to anyone looking for web development/design.

BillBoard Design

Program: Illustrator

Challenge: Using basic shapes, create a billboard in Illustrator.

Description: I like my billboards easy to read with a clean large image. Drivers only have seconds while driving by and I want to leave an impression. For the first billboard, I wanted to create a PandaLyfe brand for bamboo-based products. I created a simple imagery of Terapanda stacked and a large catch phrase. In the second billboard, I used basic illustrator shapes and created a dream catcher. This billboard is advertising for the certification that I was taking at that time (Extra credit? ☺)

Verified Volunteers Resource Hub

Type: Blog/Resource Hub

Platform: Wordpress (Dazzling) + Elementor

Description: Verified Volunteers needed a web developer to help them create a resource hub for their clients – Blog Style. They already had their company colors and logos prepared and let me design the blog as I see fit. I sent them an initial design within three days. They are able to add their blog posts with a predesigned look on each page. Overall, I am very happy with how this website turned out – it is clean and emulates the Verified Volunteers colors and branding.

Review: Aurelia did a great job building out our website. I would definitely work with her again on another project.

Name Print

Program: Illustrator

Challenge: Using basic shapes and pen tool, create an image of your name that represents who you are in Illustrator.

Description: I always liked graffiti and cartoon letters. This inspired me to create an image that was colorful and large. I drew by hand my design and traced it in Illustrator. To add to the fun, I also added a cat poking up and some extra shadowing. Overall, I felt that this image really reflected who I am as a designer.

DROPDEADFIT.

Type: E-Commerce

Platform: Wordpress (Storefront + Elementor + Woocommerce)

Description: DROPDEADFIT. is a fitness fashion store. The client wanted to move away from Shopify and implement Woocommerce as their new e-commerce platform. The client didn’t feel that he owned his shop in Shopify. Having no monthly fee was definitely a plus as well. He wanted to create something modern, clean and reflected his brand. He gave me a few reference sites so I could get the feel for his vision. He also wanted to build this site in Elementor so he would have control to go in and do quick edits. I went for a clean look, using mainly black and white and letting his products stand out. All in all, this site turned out exactly as my client envisioned it!

Review: Aurelia is who you hope you will get when you look for help on Upwork. Talented, fast, reasonable, helpful, efficient and very responsive. We will definitely use her again and recommend her highly.

Book Cover Design

Program: Photoshop

Challenge: Create a book cover collage in Photoshop.

Description: If I were to write a book, it would be an adventure story set in the wilderness. I just loved books such as Call of the Wild and My Side of the Mountain when I was growing up. For this book cover, I decided on blending together an adventure of a young man into the wilderness. I took a Tiger and blended him with the forest. I then added a rain overlay and the young man.

Collage Design

Program: Photoshop

Challenge: Use 3-4 images and create a collage in Photoshop.

Description: Do you love coffee? Well, I’m not a huge fan but my husband is and he needs a cup every morning to start his day. In tribute to his love of coffee, I added a photo of him into a cup of coffee to symbolize his “dip” into coffee every morning. I also added another person climbing up to the coffee to get his “dip” of the day. Lastly I added an “Enjoy Today” to the cup to remind us to live life to the fullest.
